Is Colon Hydrotherapy Safe?

Yes. No pressure is used and the client is free to get off the table whenever they choose.

How many sessions would I need?

A treatment plan will vary from individual to individual. The practitioner (Philomena or Diane) will discuss the client's goals and needs with them during and after their first colonic and work with what is best for them.

Do the treatments hurt?

No. The client is never asked to"hold water" or "tell me when you feel full."

Hence, the colon is never stretched and blown out. The client is in control all the time and the session can be stopped whenever they choose.

Is the small intestine cleansed during a colonic?

No. A colonic cleanses the large intestine up to the ileocecal valve. The small intestine can only be cleansed orally.

Should I see my doctor before my first colon hydrotherapy session?

If you have a concern about your health or the appropriateness of colon hydrotherapy you should consult a doctor. If you are pregnant or have heart disease, you are NOT a candidate for a colonic.

Is bacterial or viral contaminaton posssible from the colon hydrotherapy euqipment?

No. all equipment is pre-sterilized and disposable. These disposables are used only once during a single therapy session.

How long does treatment take?

You will be scheduled for a one hour session. Actual treatment time takes anywhere from fifteen to twenty minutes. However, you should plan a total session visit of one hour in duration.

Does a menstrual period at the time of a colon hydrotherapy session effect treatment?

No. For many women it helps with painful bloating. And, many women prefer to schedule their colonic session during their cycle.

What should I do to prepare for a colon hydrotherapy cleansing?

The night prior to your scheduled appointment, try to stay away from eating heavy, dense meals and alcohol. We recommend you do NOT eat or drink at least one hour prior to your session.

Will I experience any discomfort or fatigue after the session?

Usually not, but since the cleansing will stir up alot of old debris and toxins, you might experience some minor fatigue. If any discomfort occurs, it is recommended to rest and apply a warm heating pad to the abdomen. A mild vegetable broth or peppermint tea is soothing. Any discomfort will usually pass within 24 hours.

What is good to take after a colonic?

Acidophilus helps to improve the bacterial balance in the colon.

What should I NOT eat after a colonic?

Stay away from fizzy drinks, nuts, popcorn and dried fruit.

Can I work directly after having a colon hydrotherapy session?

Yes. You can work or resume your regular activities just as you would after a regular bowel movement.

What else should I know prior to making an appointment?

When you schedule an appointment, we are providing you a specific time slot on a specific day, therefore making this appointment time unavailable to others.

  • All appointments require a valid credit card in your name with a valid number and expiration date to secure an appointment.
  • 24 hour advance notice of any cancellation is required.
  • There are NO refunds on late (same day) cancellations or missed appointments.
